Brendan Barrett is the owner of Sayville Running Company and has been involved in the sport since the 8th grade. As an All-State runner in high school, he helped captain the Sayville Cross Country squad to the 2000 New York State Championship. Upon graduating he walked on the Varsity Cross Country and Track teams at the University of Notre Dame. While running for the Irish he had the priveledge of witnessing the training methods of a 10k NCAA National Champion and a sub-4 minute miler on a daily basis.
After college, Brendan has spent his time completely immersed in the Long Island running community. As owner of SRC, he has been exposed to runners of all types and ability levels and has helped organize numerous running events, such as the Keith Nintzel Memorial 5k. Some of Brendan's post-collegiate running highlights include multiple top 10 finishes in the Long Island Half Marathon and winning the 2007 USATF-LI Road Grand Prix Championship. Brendan has also had success as a member of the SRC Club racing team, which has won the Ocean to Sound Relay, Long Island Cross Country Championships and has competed at the USATF Cross Country Club Nationals.
